Getting started
Invite Lyx, set a log channel and understand slash commands versus the prefix.
Invite the bot
Use the **Add to Discord** button on lyx.lol and choose the server you want. Lyx asks for the permissions it needs to moderate, read messages, manage roles and send embeds. It does not ask for Administrator.
After the invite, slash commands register globally. That means /help works in every server the bot joins — not only in one support server.
First three things to configure
You can do all of this from Discord or from the dashboard at lyx.lol/dashboard.
/logging channel #audit-log— where joins, leaves, message edits and moderation cases go./welcome channel #general— where new members are greeted. Optional./automod toggle enabled:true— turn on the filters. Spam and invite blocking are already configured with sensible defaults.
Slash commands and the prefix
Every command works as a slash command. A text prefix also exists for people who prefer typing; the default is ! and it is per server. /prefix value:? changes it to ?.
Arguments are parsed the same way: !timeout @member 10m advertising is equivalent to /timeout user:@member minutes:10 reason:advertising.
What the bot needs
The exact permission set depends on what you enable. Moderation needs Ban Members, Kick Members, Moderate Members and Manage Messages. Logging needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in the log channel. Level rewards need Manage Roles, and the bot role must sit above the roles it hands out.
If a command fails, it tells you which permission is missing instead of failing silently.
